18 month check-up and trying to find a house

Last week we took Luke for his 18 month check-up. He weighed 24 lbs 10 oz, was 31.25 inches tall, and his head circumference was 20. Still holding on to the 25% in height and weight. He is meeting all of his developmental milestones so everything looks good! My attempt to get the blog caught up was interrupted last weekend by a last minute showing of our house so I will try to get the rest of what I was going to put up on there now. We went to Atlanta yesterday to try to find rental homes to live in in July, lets just say for what we can afford, there was nothing liveable...we are thinking of getting an apartment in a complex that is right across the street from the hospital Josh will be working in. We figure if we are going to have to live in an apartment anyway, might as well afford Josh the benefit of walking to work, and calls, and consults! We'll save even more in gas and car maintenance! Haven't given up totally on finding a condo or townhouse in the area to rent though. We are going back Thursday and Friday of this week to look some more.
Oh yes, and Noah went home with my parents today to FL. Josh is sad, Luke I think will be wondering where he went eventually, and me, well I am going to enjoy a couple of months of sound sleep and no chasing a dog under the table to retrieve a toy for a crying child. But I will miss Noah too.

Some Catching up to do

Hi All!
For anyone who has been waiting for an update from the Elliott's, I apologize for the extended absence. I will try to post some pictures below in order dating back to the beginning of March. We are still in the process of trying to sell our house. Our first realtor is officially on maternity leave, expecting the arrival of her little boy anytime I think. Our new realtor, Ashley, had some tips for us to liven things up a bit (throw pillows, plants, patio furniture etc) so maybe after we get that accomplished I'll post pictures of what our house looks like now. For those of you who have been here it'll look different! As my brother said to us when he and Ansev (his girlfried) visited in March, "I don't think I've ever seen anywhere you live look this clean!" Let me just say, he is right and I have become a little obsessed about keeping it clean just in case some random showing may pop up. So far my efforts have been in vain since we've only even had 4 people come inside for showings in the 10 weeks we've been on the market.

Otherwise, I am thisclose to having a job in Atlanta, more to come about that, but I am waiting on the official offer papers before I say anything more about it.
Josh and I will be going to Atlanta next weekend to look at rental homes so more to come on that as well. Josh just took his annual OKAP exam (Ophthalomology Knowledge something something..) so he is glad that is done with. The light is at the end of the tunnel for his residency.

Luke remains the sweetest cutest little guy parents could ask for. I've been making lists of all the things he says (because his daycare had told me his doesn't talk a whole lot there but certainly understands everything and just wanted to know what he says at home). He says lots of words and definitely knows what most objects are if I say them and ask him to point to that object. His favorite words right now are apple, bubble, dogs, cat, juice, ball, there are more I am forgetting, I'll have to get my list and add them later.

Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Outfit

Luke and his friend Ian (our friends Marcus and Anna's son) had a Easter egg hunt the saturday before Easter and Ian's house. They were both a little too young to take part in the Church's Egg hunt, so we made one for them. After watching them try to find the eggs, we realized why they were too young for the Church's hunt, the eggs would have been all picked up before they even knew what to look for! The video I'm posting is the third I took of Luke picking up eggs that morning, after he figured out what to do!



Here are a couple of pictures from Easter Sunday. The outfit Luke has on I got for him at our Church's consignment sale, I think it was handmade by someone. Luke usually never wears outfits like this and I thought it was cute, but the legs kept bunching up on him and it was a little chilly that day :)

Easily entertained

Luke is easily entertained. Here are a few examples.

Hair Cut and Carousel Ride

Luke's hair grows so fast! We've been giving him hair cuts at home, but it has become increasingly difficult to get him to stay still. So we took him to SportsClips where Josh gets his hair cut to see if they could do any better!



The next day we had some showings on our home so we took Luke out and about. We let him ride the carousel at the mall (which he loves to watch) for the first time ever. He did NOT love riding it. This is about the best picture we have (and we took a lot). It perfectly captures his apprehension about riding on this horse. He spent most of the time looking up at how this horse was moving.

Uncle Neil and Ansev visit on Spring Break

Here is a video and some cute pictures from the visit. Luke got to stay home from daycare and get spoiled, he was sad when they had to leave. We went to the park again. I guess I didn't get too many pictures of Luke with Neil and Ansev, but their feet and legs are in the video :) Thanks to Neil for sending me the picture of me, Josh, and Luke on the slide.

Funny picture and scar progression

Luke is pretty funny, and one day he thought it would be funny to press his face up against the tray from his high chair. He was right it is funny and he likes to do this a lot now!
