Artsy
Luke felt like being artsy one day and begged me to paint his fingernails. I didn't want to stifle his creativity so I painted them all the various colors he asked for (even though I knew Josh was going to want to strangle me!). After the fingernail painting Luke decided it wasn't quite enough, so he found his stickers and put as many stickers as he could up both arms and added a couple on his face.

going back to Easter
Yep, that is how far behind I am. I haven't even posted about Easter! We've been having a busy summer here. Lots of traveling and fun adventures for sure. Maybe you'll hear about them by Christmas :) Luke started school last week and things are slowly returning back to a routine, which actually is pretty nice. Anyway, thought I'd take some time and recount Easter weekend. My parents, the boys' Nana and Papa, came up for the weekend.
First we made Easter eggs. This was the first time Luke got to dye eggs. I can remember doing this with my brother when we were little. Nothing has changed in the art of egg dyeing, except when I was a kid I don't remember caring if a mess was made!

We also went to the zoo. I bought a membership and before it got terribly hot we went about once a month. It is a pretty nice zoo and Luke loves it. Didn't get too many pictures this trip, but here is one I love of Brad, by the gorillas wearing his monkey shirt.

We started going to a new church on Palm Sunday and we have since joined this church and it is also where Luke now attends preschool. We intended to get there for Luke to do the egg hunt, but unfortunately we arrived a little too late. Luke still walked around and looked on the playground.
(Let me just mention that I love this playground because of the astroturf! Luke's previous school had mulch and it was a never ending mulch fest in his shoes everyday that got dumped in the car in the house, etc...)

Between mommy and daddy and two sets of grandparents, we had enough Easter presents to make up three Easter baskets for Luke to find in the house when we got home from church.

Since we missed the church's egg hunt we made one for Luke in our yard while he napped. I took some video, but it took him 7 minutes to pick up the dozen eggs we had out, so needless to say he wasn't that into it and I'll spare you the video.

Jumping
We enjoyed a great month of July on vacation, and we were pretty much out of Atlanta the whole month. Well, Luke, Brad, and I anyway. Josh had to stay here and work. But now we are back and I'll try to get back to blogging!
Brad LOVES the jumpy chair. Here is some video of his first try at the chair, way back on April 23rd. He loved it from the moment he got in it. It has been so much fun to watch him bounce. Luke never really enjoyed this chair, so it is fun to see Brad have fun with it. He loves it so much he has fallen asleep in it, and had been known to still be bouncing while asleep. He actually is doing this right now as I write this post! I think I got video of this once, I'll probably post it in a few months! Ha.

6 months
Six months in and Brad is doing well!
At six months Luke was 25 and 3/4 inches tall and weighed 15 lbs 10 oz. He had already had his hair cut! He was an excellent sleeper and a good eater. Luke always was the chill baby, just so easy going.

Brad was 26 inches long and 17 lbs 12 ounces at six months.
Brad was still not sleeping through the night and our pediatrician told me to stop feeding him at 3 am and make him cry it out. We did that and it took only a couple of nights for him to start making it to about 6 am.
Brad is a great eater and still smiles and laughs so easily but can get really mad really quickly too. He LOVES the bouncy chair and will bounce himself to sleep in it!

Peas
Ok, I think this is the last video I took of Brad eating.
This time I made him peas. I remember Luke liked them as a baby and even though we don't make peas for ourselves here at this house, I figured Brad deserved a chance to decide for himself if he liked them or not.

New desk
Luke and I had a great time working on this little project together. My Dad brought up my old desk from their house for Luke. It was white and looking a little worn down and the knobs were pretty girly so we decided to give it a makeover. Luke supervised the sanding, and tried his hand at it too. We went to home depot and he chose black for the color of his desk. He helped me paint it out in the garage (the first coat). I ended up doing 3 coats total to get it looking good. We moved it into his playroom and now it is a great spot for him to color and draw. We just need to find some pull knobs for it, if anyone knows of a place to get some fun pull knobs let me know. The ones at home depot are boring, I'd love to get some trucks/cars knobs.

Brad eats pears, Noah is the clean-up crew
Brad tries out some pears. I fully expected him to like them and I think he did :) You can hear Luke in the background playing chef. This is a game he has been doing for a while, he likes to make you food and pretend to bring it to you, he can play this game for quite a while and sometimes his creations are really interesting!
